Legal duty to provide governance information

All maintained school governing bodies and academy trusts have a legal duty to provide all of the governance information requested on this page in so far as it is available to them.

This will increase the transparency of governance arrangements. It will enable schools and the department to identify more quickly and accurately individuals who are involved in governance, and who govern in more than one context.

Delegated authority of local governing body

Delegated authority is given to the Local Academy Committees (LACs) to deal with the following matters: safeguarding; community engagement; pupil outcomes; staff and pupil well-being; pupil premium and sports premium spending and impact; monitoring risk; monitoring the school improvement plan; pupil exclusion; involvement in the recruitment of staff to SLT including a new Head teacher; school policy approval and review; health and safety matters; and school website compliance. Each academy has its own Local Academy Committee (LAC). At Kettering Park Infant School, Kettering Park Junior School, Falconers Hill Infant School, and Ashby Fields Primary School the Trust has shared local governors with shared responsibility across two schools: Kettering Park Infants and Kettering Park Juniors (shared LAC) Falconers Hill Infants and Ashby Fields Primary (shared LAC) All academies within the Trust share a Governance Professional.
